  • How did Jesus free us from the original sin?

There was no “original sin,” a concept that never occurred in Judaism but was invented by the authors of the New Testament, along with “hell,” which was never once mentioned in bible passages covering 4,000 years from Adam and Eve to the last Old Testament prophets.

Before I explain why there was no “original sin” let me mention what the bible says about forgiveness…

    FORGIVENESS: SACRIFICE OR MERCY?

Seven Hebrew prophets said god did not want bloody sacrifices: Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, Samuel and King David. Jesus quoted three of them — Hosea, Isaiah and Jeremiah — giving them his stamp of approval.

    • Hosea 6:6: “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.”
    • Matthew 9:13: “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’” Jesus was quoting Hosea. It would be hypocritical for a god who desires mercy rather than sacrifice to demand the sacrifice of his son rather than showing mercy unconditionally, as good parents would for their erring children.
    • Psalm 40:6-8: “In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.”
    • Isaiah 1:11: “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.”
    • Jeremiah 7:22: God told the people of Judah to stop offering sacrifices because he didn’t want them. More on this momentarily.
    • Amos 5:25: “Did you [indeed] bring me sacrifices and offerings the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?” More on this in relation to Jeremiah, below.
    • 1 Samuel 15:22: “To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
    • Micah 6:1-8: “… the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. … Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

The prophet Jeremiah denied that god ordained animal sacrifices during the Exodus, when the Ten Commandments were given to Moses:

Thus saith Yahweh of hosts, god of Israel: “Add your burnt-offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. For in the day that I brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to them or command them concerning burnt-offerings and sacrifices.. (Jeremiah 7:22)

What Jeremiah said blatantly contradicts the idea that god demanded the purported “sacrifice” of Jesus.

Jeremiah directly accused the Levite scribes of changing the bible:

How do ye say, “We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.” (Jeremiah 8:8 KJV)

The NIV translates the same accusation more accurately:

How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? (Jeremiah 8:8 NIV)

The prophet Amos agreed with Jeremiah that the deceitful Levite scribes had changed the Bible to demand animal sacrifices, which allowed them to eat the best cuts of meat without working like everyone else. Amos asks ironically and rhetorically:

“Did you [indeed] bring me sacrifices and offerings the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?” (Amos 5:25)

Amos also said god despised the festivals at which animals were slaughtered and burnt as “sacrifices,” not to god, but to feed the Levites: “I hate, I reject your feasts, and I will not smell your meat-offerings in your general assemblies.”

Amos completely rejected the idea that burnt offerings were a “sweet savor” to god.

The prophet Micah also denied the need for sacrifices, including that of firstborns, which would include Jesus not being a sacrifice:

Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:1-8)

The prophet Isaiah also denied that god had ever desired the flesh and blood of animals.

“But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a person,
    and whoever offers a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig’s blood,
and whoever burns memorial incense is like one who worships an idol.
They have chosen their own ways, and they delight in their abominations.” (Isaiah 66:3)

Isaiah equates sacrifices with murder, idolatry and offering something unclean (pig’s blood) to god!

“What are all your sacrifices to Me?” asks the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings and rams and the fat of well-fed cattle; I have no desire for the blood of bulls, lambs, or male goats. (Isaiah 1:11 HCSB)

Long before the time of Jesus, King David believed in salvation by grace, claiming that God did not require sacrifice and could simply choose not to impute sin. (Psalm 32:1-2)

1 Samuel 15:22 says that “to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

The prophets were pointing out that “sacrifices” were not the commandment of god, but rather were to benefit the Levites, who had changed the Bible to enrich themselves. And the same is true of Christian churches that reap enormous profits by peddling the “sacrifice” of Jesus to the gullible.

Furthermore, the bible says no one should die for another’s sin. Would you kill one child because another erred, or would you forgive the child who erred without bloodshed?

    GOD CAN SAVE WITHOUT SACRIFICES

The bible says god can save without sacrifices. According to the bible, animal sacrifices were instituted during the Exodus, by Moses. But the prophet Jeremiah denied this, saying Moses did not command animal sacrifices. Jeremiah accused the Levites of cooking the books. Why? Because they got the best cuts of meat from animal sacrifices and didn’t have to work to eat like everyone else.

Why would god slaver for the “sweet savor” of charring animal flesh, like a drunk at a barbeque? That makes no sense. But it makes sense to say that, if you want to eat free steaks and not have to work.

In any case, human beings were saved without the alleged “sacrifice” of Jesus.

Both Elijah and Enoch ascended into heaven. (Genesis 5:24, 2 Kings 2:11)

Amusingly, the error-prone writer of John had obviously not read the Hebrew bible and claimed no one had ever ascended to heaven other than Jesus! (John 3:13)

So much of what christians believe is wrong, because the authors and redactors of the bible made serious mistakes, not being familiar with the entire bible.

    ORIGINAL SIN

Jesus didn’t free us from “original sin” because “original sin” is nonsense…

    Think about it.

First, according to the bible the penalty for sin was death, so if Jesus paid the penalty for sin with his death, human beings should not longer die.

Furthermore, the bible tries to blame Eve for suffering and death entering an otherwise “perfect” world. Why? Because the primitive men who wrote the bible were male chauvinists. Ancient Greek male chauvinists did the same thing when they blamed Pandora for all the ills of the world.

In the comments it was claimed that the bible doesn’t blame Eve, but it does: “And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.” (1 Timothy 2:14)

When they see a problem, male chauvinists automatically blame women!

    Especially religious men.

But we know trillions of animals suffered and died before human beings existed, making “original sin” complete and utter nonsense.

If there is such a thing as “original sin” the only possible “original sinner” would be the Creator, if such a being exists. If you want to blame suffering and death on anyone, the Creator is your man, or being.

Also, the biblical god was an evil father to Adam and Eve, because he condemned them to an animal existence, running around naked and not knowing good from evil, then murdered them when they sought knowledge. All good parents want their children to seek and gain knowledge and wisdom.

In short, Eve did not “sin” because we should all seek and try to acquire knowledge.

The “original sinner” was the biblical god, who tried to prevent Adam and Eve from acquiring knowledge.

As a matter of fact, in the original Sumerian creation myth that inspired and influenced the biblical Garden of Eden story, it was the male Creator-God who committed the original sin, and we also discover why Eve was created from a rib!

EVE WAS NOT THE FIRST “LADY OF THE RIB”

The biblical account of Eve being created from a rib then eating the “forbidden fruit” goes back to the far more ancient Sumerian myth of Enki and Ninhursag, which takes place in the paradisal garden of Dilmun, the Sumerian version of Eden.

In this more ancient myth the Sumerian creator-god Enki was a brute who seduced his daughters and granddaughters, had sex with them, then abandoned them and left them heartbroken. When trying to seduce his great-granddaughter Uttu, the lecherous Enki brought her gifts of fruit including apples, grapes and cucumbers. This was the original “forbidden fruit” because it was being used for incestual seduction.

Enki was also a glutton who ate forbidden flowers in the paradisal garden rather than letting them grow, and thus became deathly ill. To save her wayward husband’s life the loving and compassionate mother-goddess Ninhursag created a female goddess, Ninti, to heal the dying Enki’s rib. Ninti’s name is a pun on the Sumerian word ti, which means both “rib” and “life” or “to make live.” Ninti’s name translates to both “Lady of the Rib” and “Lady of Life” or “Lady Who Makes Live.”

The biblical creation account was changed for theological reasons to make the male god “perfect” and to have the “Lady of the Rib” and the “Lady of Life” eat the forbidden fruit. In fact, the name Eve means “life.”

    Case closed.

Eve was originally a goddess and the compassionate healer of the wayward male Creator!

But of course the male chauvinist authors of the bible got rid of all the better-behaved and more compassionate female goddesses.

However, let it be noted that in the original myth the original sinner was the heartless male creator-god!

And let it also be noted that the biblical god in the Garden of Eden was even more of a brute than Enki because Enkil didn’t murder his children.

    PARALLELS OF DILMUN TO EDEN

    • Dilmun is the site where creation occurred.
    • Dilmun was described as “pure,” “virginal” and “pristine.”
    • Dilmun was perfect because “The lion did not slay, the wolf was not carrying off lambs, etc.” Also there were no eye diseases or headaches and no one grew old. There were no sad songs, no laments, no one wailing.
    • Dilmun lay at the “mouth of the rivers” said to have been the union of the Tigris and Euphrates at Qurnah. The bible says Eden lay near the headwaters of the same rivers.
    • Like the biblical God, Enki, the Creator-God, spoke things into creation: rivers, lakes, precious stones, etc.
    • Goddesses gave birth in nine days rather than nine months, making human women seem cursed, as they were said to be in the biblical version.

But in any case there was no “original sin” for Jesus to save us from or free us from.

  • Why was Jesus also praying to God when the trinity knows that he is also God?

If Jesus was “one” with God the Father, why did he pray to himself not to accomplish his own Divine Plan?

If Jesus was “one” with God the Father, how could he pray, “Not my will, but Thine be done.”?

To understand the contradictions we see in the New Testament, such as Jesus praying to himself not to do what he had come to earth to do, theoretically with perfect faith in himself, we have to understand the strange evolution of Jesus from a fully human Messiah into God Incarnate…

    STAGE I: FULLY HUMAN

According to the oldest and least “embellished” gospel, that of Mark, there was nothing exceptional about Jesus until his baptism, at which time he was designated as “the Son of God.” The voice speaking from heaven when John the Baptist baptized Jesus was probably a later embellishment, for theological purposes, to convince readers that it was, indeed, the baptism of Jesus that made him “the Son of God” via adoption. This does not mean that Jesus was God, or that he was one with God. For instance, Adam was called “the Son of God.” (Luke 3:38)

According to Mark, we see Jesus denying that he was God when he rebuked the man who addressed him as “Good Teacher.” Jesus replied, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” (Mark 10:17-20)

At this stage it made sense for Jesus to pray to God, like any religious human being.

STAGE II: THE “VIRGIN BIRTH” AND OTHER SIMILAR NONSENSE

Either the author of Matthew or his redactors, probably both, were shameless liars. The author of Mark and the evangelist Paul knew nothing about the following bizarre inventions of the original author and redactors of the gospel of Matthew:

    • The fictitious “genealogy” of Jesus, which blatantly contradicts the gospel of Luke.
    • The “virgin birth.”
    • The “star of Bethlehem.”
    • The Magi, or wise men.
    • The “massacre of the innocents.”
    • The “flight into Egypt” which blatantly contradicts the gospel of Luke. Matthew was very big on making up things about Jesus in order to have him “fulfill” prophecies of the Old Testament, such as “Out of Egypt, I have called my son.” But that “prophecy” was actually about the nation of Israel being called out of Egypt during the Exodus. The Bible often used the names of patriarchs like Israel, Judah and Joseph when talking about the tribes they fathered.
    • Jesus saying Peter would be the “rock” upon which he would build his church — very convenient to Catholic popes and their authority, of course.
    • The ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.
    • The story of Judas Iscariot returning his blood money then committing suicide, which blatantly contradicts Acts 1:18, where Judas used the blood money to purchase a field then “fell headlong” in an accident, gushing out his bowels.

At this stage, Jesus had been promoted to a demigod — half human, half divine — but was still not on par with God, nor was he “one” with God. Thus at this stage it still made sense for Jesus to pray to God, since God was the superior being.

STAGE III: JESUS BECOMES THE GREEK LOGOS, OR “WORD”

The last of the four gospels to be written, the gospel of John, introduces the novel idea that Jesus was preexistent and was “with” God and “was” God before the universe was created. This would have come as a shock to all the other authors of the Bible, going back to whoever wrote the Torah, but also including Paul and the authors of the other gospels and Acts.

Here it becomes fuzzy that Jesus would pray not to do what he had always intended to do, even before the creation of the earth and human beings. Why would a preexistent, all-knowing Creator pray not to accomplish his self-appointed task? Did he lack faith in himself? If so, was he perfect as Christians claim?

    STAGE IV: THE TRINITY

Long after the deaths of Jesus and the apostles, someone came up with the idea that Jesus was part of a Trinity, along with God the Father and the mysterious Holy Poltergeist.

  • Why does God’s character seem to change between the Old Testament and the New Testament if he never changes (Malachi 3:6)?

It is a common misconception that god’s nature somehow “improved” from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

In fact, with the introduction of the pagan “hell” god’s nature got infinitely worse.

With its acceptance, nay its infatuation with hell, the christian religion created Evil Jesus.

The Old Testament god was an ogre who would as soon mass-murder babies as look at them, along with their mothers, fathers and siblings. But once you were dead, he was done with you, so death was at least an escape from the hellish world god created, then blamed on Eve for seeking to acquire knowledge, something all good parents want their children to do.

England’s greatest prophet, William Blake, called the biblical god NOBODADDY because no one would want him for a father.

But as horrible as Yahweh was, he only wanted to murder you, not torture you for all eternity.

The introduction of the pagan “hell” made the New Testament god infinitely worse than the Old Testament god.

The christian religion boils down to this: its evil god will condemn you to an infinitely cruel, purposeless “hell” for guessing wrong about which religion to believe.

If your loved ones go to “hell” it was Jesus who sent them there, since only Jesus has the ability to save them.

Thus Jesus is the accuser of the brethren.

That is, if the Christian religion is true. But of course it’s not.

  • Why is there no evidence that Jesus performed any miracles?

There is no evidence that Jesus performed miracles for the same reason that there is no evidence that Merlin or Gandalf performed miracles.

Anyone can perform miracles in a work of fiction.

Over and over, we see the bible claiming miracles that don’t hold water.

The miracles of the Genesis creation accounts (there are two contradictory creation accounts) don’t hold water because we know trees didn’t grow on earth before the sun was created and we know there is no “firmament” in the sky, etc.

The miracles of the Great Flood and Noah’s ark don’t hold water because we know there was never a global flood that covered the highest mountains. Any bright child can explain why.

    • Kangaroos can’t hop across vast oceans from Australia to the Middle East.
    • Two bees can’t survive because a queen and drone can’t feed themselves or baby bees.
    • etc.

The miracles of the Exodus don’t hold water because modern archeology has proved that there was:

    • no mass enslavement of Israelites in Egypt;
    • no evidence of the hundreds of thousands of graves and skeletons that 2-3 million people wandering in the desert for 40 years would have left behind;
    • no evidence of a military takeover of Canaan at the time of Moses, Joshua and Caleb;
    • etc.

We know Jesus didn’t actually perform the miracles claimed in the bible for simple, obvious reasons:

    • No one living at the time of Jesus wrote a single word about him, outside the bible.
    • The alleged “miracles” of Jesus were never mentioned by the first christian writer, the apostle Paul.
    • Paul and the author of the first gospel, Mark, never mentioned:
      • The “virgin birth.”
      • The magical “Star of Bethlehem” (and how does a star point at a specific house?).
      • The Magi.
      • Angels serenading the birth of Jesus.
      • The “massacre of the innocents.”
      • The “flight into Egypt.”
      • The ludicrous ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.
      • Jesus soaring into the clouds like Superman.
      • The loopy “trinity.”
      • All this nonsense was made up long after the fact, much of it in the second and third centuries AD, long after the deaths of Jesus and all the apostles.

There is no evidence of any “miracles” of Jesus because they were the inventions of charlatans who used such nonsense to scam money from the gullible, as charlatans continue to do today.

  • What do we know about Jesus? The facts vs the myths

There are no “facts” about Jesus. Despite all the “miracles” the bible attributes to Jesus, no one living during his lifetime bothered to write a single word about the most amazing human being who ever lived … if the myths were true.

“Ho hum. There goes Jesus raising the dead, soaring into the clouds like Superman, walking on water, repeatedly raising the dead, etc. How boring. Ho hum. Let’s not tell anyone. Ho hum.”

When Roman historians finally began to write about Jesus, long after his alleged death, they were repeating alleged “facts” they had heard through Roman Christians, who had learned the “facts” from Jewish Christians. And still they never mentioned the “virgin birth” or the “cross” or the “resurrection” or the “ascension” or any of the other alleged “miracles” of Jesus.

    Isn’t that odd?

The only reports we have of such “miracles” come from within the christian cult, and all the major “miracles” other than the alleged resurrection, which Mark admitted no one witnessed in the first-written gospel, went uncited by the earliest christian fathers for a hundred years or more after the alleged death of Jesus.

Should anyone believe what Moonies say about the “miracles” of their cult leader?

If someone tries to convince you to become a Moonie, should you accept what they say as “facts” or should you be skeptical as hell?

What historians said about Jesus without verification is hearsay, and the people spreading the gossip had a very clear agenda because the church’s wealth, power and very existence depended on people believing its tall tales.

How likely does this seem to you: Jesus heals the sick, raises the dead, walks on water, creates a huge following so that he is welcomed by cheering Jerusalem crowds as the Messiah and King of the Jews, is tried before Pilate and Herod, and crucified. Jesus’s death causes a three-hour eclipse (the longest eclipse on record was slightly more than seven minutes) and a rock-splitting earthquake that produces a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. Yet no one bothered to write a single word about any of it?

“Ho hum. There goes Jesus raising the dead by the truckloads. How boring. Ho hum. Let’s not tell anyone. Ho hum.”

Everything about the so-called “passion of Christ” is ludicrously wrong:

    • How could the authors of the New Testament know what Pilate’s wife said to him, or what the Sanhedrin said, did and thought behind closed doors?
    • The Sanhedrin was not allowed to meet during Passover.
    • The Sanhedrin was not allowed to hold trials at night.
    • Someone had to defend the accused.
    • The witnesses had to agree.
    • A death sentence could be passed only in a legal court, not in a private home.
    • Trials that resulted in death sentences were not allowed to be concluded in a single day.
    • Neither the Jews nor the Romans had a “tradition” of releasing a prisoner during Passover.
    • The name of the prisoner released, Barabbas, seems contrived for a purpose. Barabbas means “son of the father” and implies that the crowd preferred the murderous son of a human father to the perfect son of god!
    • During Yom Kippur, when one scapegoat was murdered, another was set free. Clearly, Jesus was the scapegoat being murdered and Barabbas was the one being freed. In some accounts, he was even called Jesus Barabbas. What were the odds, unless the “passion” was a work of fiction?
    • No one could have seen the temple curtain and the crucifixion at the same time, to know if the curtain was ripped in two before or after Jesus’s death. Furthermore, the gospels contradict each other about the order. Moreover, the curtain was not ripped because it would have been major news but no one mentioned it. Like everything else to do with the pretend trial and pretend crucifixion of Jesus.
    • There has never been a three-hour eclipse — the longest eclipse on record was around seven minutes — thus a three-hour eclipse would have been worldwide news and would have scared the dickens out of half the planet. And yet no one wrote about this cataclysmic event despite the fact that there were many ancient astronomers.
    • The ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is ludicrous nonsense. So ludicrous that no bible writer other than Matthew would touch it.
    • Rocks have more structural integrity than first-century houses, so an earthquake that split rocks would have leveled Jerusalem.
    • The last words of Jesus Christ, if he really was god, or the son of god, would have been the most sacred words ever uttered by human lips. No true believer would think to put words in the mouth of the dying Savior or the World. And yet the authors of the New Testament did put words in Jesus’s mouth, having him say entirely different things on the cross, and thereby proving that they held nothing sacred.

In conclusion, we don’t have a single real fact about Jesus, but we can tell when we’re being bamboozled with ancient BS.

  • Do you believe that Jesus was God on Earth?

I do not believe Jesus was god on Earth, or anywhere else.

    Here’s why…

I did believe in Jesus, once … but then I read the bible from cover to cover and realized that Jesus was far from perfect because he sinned, issued false prophecies, even aided and abetted demons in a terrible crime, dishonored his mother, said and did a number of foolish things, and made numerous other mistakes…

    FALSE PROPHET JESUS

Jesus vowed that he would return to earth, descending from the clouds in great glory with a host of angels, while the disciples standing before him were still living. (Mark 9:1, Mark 13:30, Mark 14:62, Luke 9:27, Luke 21:32, Matthew 16:27-28Matthew 24:29-34)

A rather spectacular series of failed prophecies.

For doubters, I provide the text of these verses below.

The acclaimed christian apologist C.S. Lewis called this the most embarrassing part of the bible, and we’re talking about a book with dragons, unicorns, multi-headed sea monsters, a talking ass, a talking snake, four-legged insects, a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, a god who mass-murders babies but can’t defeat tribes with primitive iron chariots (Judges 1:19), etc.

There is a LOT to be embarrassed about!

Jesus clearly promised that he would return during the lifetime of his disciples. When this didn’t happen and Christians started dying, the evangelist Paul had to “talk down” his followers, as he did in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

This was disputed in previous comments, so I will give Jesus’s prophecy:

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” (Matthew 24:34)

Here’s that verse in context, explaining all the things to be fulfilled while the generation listening to Jesus was still alive:

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (Matthew 24:29-34)

Elsewhere Matthew makes it perfectly clear that “this generation” means the disciples standing before Jesus:

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.” (Matthew 16:27-28)

    Luke agrees with Matthew:

“But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:27)

“Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:32)

Mark agrees with Matthew and Luke:

“Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.” (Mark 9:1)

“Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.” (Mark 13:30)

“And ye [the people Jesus was talking to] shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:62)

Nothing could be clearer, and it’s obvious that the earliest Christians were expecting Jesus to return during their lifetimes, which is why Paul had to talk them down later. And Paul echoed the claim that some Christians living at that time (“we”) would still be alive when Jesus returned. (1 Thessalonians 4:15)

To recap, the things to be fulfilled while the people of that generation were still living included:

    • The sun being darkened.
    • The moon no longer shining.
    • Stars falling from the sky and the heavens being shaken.
    • Jesus appearing in the clouds with great glory, to be seen by all the people of the earth.
    • The angels appearing with the sound of trumpets to gather the elect from every part of the earth.
    • Quite obviously, none of these things happened during the first century AD, when that generation was alive.
    • It bears noting that the last-written gospel, John, deleted all such prophecies, probably because it was written when all Jesus’s disciples were dead, or too late for any of them to be alive.

    ANOTHER FALSE PROPHECY OF JESUS

Jesus also falsely prophesied that not a stone of the Jerusalem temple would be left standing on another stone. Archeologists have unearthed many such stones, some of them immense and still standing atop each other. You can see them if you visit Jerusalem.

    SELF-INCRIMINATOR JESUS

Jesus said a good tree cannot bear evil fruit (Matthew 7:18) and if he was correct a good god cannot produce evil commandments.

But the biblical “god” certainly did, by commanding the worst crimes known to mankind:

    • Ethnic cleansing
    • Genocide
    • Matricide
    • Infanticide
    • The ghastly stoning to death of boys for misdemeanors and girls for non-sins like being raped and not proving their virginity by bleeding on their wedding nights. (Deuteronomy chapter 22)
    • Slavery
    • Sex slavery

According to Christian theology Jesus is “one” with this barbaric god and authored the bible’s satanic commandments as a member of the alleged “trinity.”

Christians love to quote bible verses about the purported “love,” “wisdom” and “mercy” of their alleged “god,” but the proof is in the pudding and the bible’s is rancid. For example:

“Mass-murder children, babies and unborns in their pregnant mothers’ wombs, but keep the virgin girls alive as sex slaves.” (Numbers 31:17-18)

Is the Bible a book of wisdom, really? Who listens to baby killers? How many of us have fallen short of the “glory” of such satanic commandments?

    INFINITELY EVIL JESUS

Jesus saved his sternest criticism for hypocrites, calling them “whitewashed sepulchers full of dead men’s bones” and “nests of vipers.” But according to the christian religion Jesus was the greatest hypocrite of all time because he preached the famous sermon of the Good Samaritan, a man who put aside religious differences to show compassion to someone who couldn’t help himself, yet according to christian theology Jesus will decline to be a Good Samaritan by sending billions of people who can’t save themselves to an infinitely cruel, purposeless hell!

Even worse, according to the bible Jesus deliberate misled his followers so that they would be damned, rather than saved!

And when he was alone, those who were about him with the twelve asked him concerning the parables. And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables; so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand; lest they should turn again, and be forgiven.” (Mark 4:10-12)

The poet Robert Frost wrote a magnificent poem, “Directive,” about the fear and despair this chilling bible passage created for him as a child.

But of course Jesus was just following in his father’s deceitful footsteps. The biblical god deluded human beings, perhaps explaining Christian beliefs in the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE and such:

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

The biblical god sends lying spirits to deceive human beings. (1 Kings 22:21-23)

Hell, god even sends evil spirits!

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. (1 Samuel 16:14)

JESUS IS INFINITELY MORE EVIL THAN THE DEVIL

According to christian theology, Jesus was able to save the thief on the cross with a nod of his head, and yet Jesus will refuse to nod his head at the saints of other religions. An infinitely cruel Jesus will send Gandhi, Einstein and billions of other people to an eternal hell. But the Devil has no say in who goes where, so if someone you love goes to hell, it was Jesus who sent them there, for no purpose whatsoever. Why doesn’t he put his ego aside and just nod his head at everyone? Ah, but then christian churches couldn’t make trillions of dollars peddling “salvation,” could they?

    FOOLISH JESUS

Jesus is “one” with a dumbass, easily duped god. Take the book of Job, where God is not only evil, but a hopeless dupe. If God is able to foresee the future, as the Christian religion claims, God was duped by the Devil into murdering Job’s children, slaves and his livestock. All God had to do was look in his infallible crystal ball and say, “Get behind me Satan, I know Job will remain faithful to me!”

Jesus said we can avoid hell, not by faith or grace or by being better people, but by gouging out our eyes and cutting off our hands. (Matthew 5:29-30)

Jesus was unwise and easily fooled because he believed in a nonexistent hell that had never once been mentioned by the biblical god or his prophets in Old Testament books covering 4,000 years from Adam and Eve to Malachi. How can there be a “hell” if god and the prophets never mentioned it? More about Jesus’s belief in a make-believe “hell” later…

    “ONE” WITH A BABY-KILLING GOD

The unchristian christian religion claims Jesus is “one” with the Old Testament’s baby-killing god. This demonic “god” was a repeat serial killer who mass-murdered children, infants, babies and unborns right and left.

And this complete disdain for the lives of children and babies continues in the New Testament, commencing with the birth of Jesus…

God saved the baby Jesus from the “massacre of the innocents.”

    Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

But why didn’t god save all the other babies?

And why did god allow the Star of Bethlehem to lead the Magi to Jesus, if he knew babies would be massacred as result?

Why did god warn the Magi to avoid Herod the Great after they had spilled the beans, rather than before?

Why didn’t god save ALL the babies?

Once the beans had been spilled, why did god only warn Joseph and not the other parents?

And why did god allow Herod the Great to resurrect from the dead to murder babies? Herod died ten years before the Roman census that allegedly required Joseph to report to Bethlehem.

    PREDESTINATION JESUS

Q: Why does the biblical god hate so many babies?
A: Because he created them to be hated, with no chance of being saved!

God hates and damns children before they are born. No one can be saved unless god predestined them to be saved before birth. Predestination is a recurring theme in the bible. (Romans 9:11-23, John 6:44, Acts 13:48, 2 Timothy 1:9, Proverbs 16:4, Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 1:11-12, Revelation 13:8)

20 O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? [Your children are lumps of clay, to be honored or damned at the whims of a monstrous god.] 22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory. (Romans 9:20-23)

Biblical predestination and a Day of Judgment are incompatible. Does the puppeteer judge his puppets?—Michael R. Burch

Predestination and free will are obviously incompatible. According to the bible, there is no free will, only the illusion of free will, because salvation and damnation were determined before birth.

    CRUELTY-TO-ANIMALS JESUS

One of the most shocking things about the bible is the cruelty of its three gods to animals. Yahweh drowned trillions of animals, repeatedly slaughtered Egyptian animals then resurrected them to slaughter them again in the next plague, etc.

And Jesus was no exception: like father, like son…

PETA ALERT! Jesus murdered 2,000 innocent pigs to make demons happy. (Mark 5:1-13)

If Jesus was a prophet, he must have known the demons who called themselves Legion were tricking him into becoming their accomplice in murdering thousands of innocent pigs. What sort of gullible god is tricked into murdering innocent animals by demons?

In Revelation, after all earth’s creatures have sung the praises of god, serial murderer Jesus goes on a rampage and slaughters trillions of them: a third of all life on land and in the sea.

    UNJUST JESUS

The alleged Prince of Peace vows to personally murder christian children for their mother’s sins, with one of those “sins” being the St. Paul-approved eating of foods offered to idols! Hell, Jesus said himself that what we eat does not defile us!

    But check this out:

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins [kidneys] and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. (Revelation 2:23)

So much for grace because salvation is all about works and what we eat! Jesus will search your kidneys and if he doesn’t like what he finds in your digestive tract, he will murder your children, rather redundantly, “with death.”

So what was the other sin?

    Adultery.

Jesus refused to convict an adulteress who was about to be stoned to death, so why would he murder the children of an adulteress?

Also, if Jesus is going to murder all christians who commit adultery, or who look at each other with lust, which he equated with adultery, there won’t be many left.

    INCONSISTENT JESUS

And not so quick with that “Prince of Peace” thing!

Jesus is NOT the Prince of Peace, so don’t be fooled by Christian hyperbole:

“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother…” (Matthew 10:34-36)

“Blessed are the peacemakers,” thus Jesus is unblessed!

“The meek shall inherit the earth.”

Are we being a tad contradictory?

“Perfect love casts out fear, for fear involves torment” but Jesus is all about frightening human beings to convert to christianity with fear of the torments of a “hell” never once mentioned by his alleged father or any of his prophets.

    SINFUL JESUS

How did Jesus acquire the colt that carried him into Jerusalem? He stole it himself (John 12:14). He sent his disciples to steal the colt and its mother. (Matthew 21:1-2)

Forget that silly honoring your parents stuff, Jesus wants you to hate your father and mother, for his sake! (Luke 14:26)

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26)

And to set a good (or very bad) example, Jesus called his mother “woman” and coldy rebuked her (John 2:4), then refused to see her when she was understandably concerned about his wellbeing. (Mark 3:20-31)

    RACIST JESUS

Jesus is a racist who called non-Jews “dogs.”

Jesus ignored a suffering mother, then called her a Gentile “dog.” The woman shamed the alleged son of god by pointing out, “Even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” (Matthew 15:21-28)

The rightly chastised Jesus had to agree with the much wiser woman, and repented.

    RUB-IT-IN-THEIR-FACES JESUS

Jesus preached to spirits in hell. Can people be saved after death or was Jesus just taunting them? (1 Peter 3:19)

    ILLITERATE JESUS

Was Jesus — the alleged all-knowing, all-wise Creator of the Universe — illiterate? Or was an all-powerful god unable to preserve what he wrote?

    ERRONEOUS JESUS

Jesus, the Creator of the Universe according to John (1:1-3), didn’t know:

    • that orchid seeds are smaller than mustard seeds;
    • that ravens do plan and store, and are actually quite ingenious about caching food for later retrieval;
    • that god lets zillions of sparrow fall, giving us no confidence in his love or ability to save;
    • that stars can’t fall to earth without destroying it;
    • that red skies at morning don’t mean bad weather is coming;
    • that no christian church has ever followed his nonsensical advice not to plan for the future because they all have budgets, building plans, etc.;
    • that the meek have never inherited the earth. Ask the victims of the Trail of Tears, the Holocaust, the Palestinian Nakba, etc.
    • etc.

    IRRATIONAL JESUS

Jesus cursed an innocent fig tree for not bearing figs when it wasn’t fig season. (Mark 11:12)

Jesus instructed his disciples: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” But many creatures don’t have ears. Also, Jesus failed to inform his disciples that they would need to discover North America, South America, Australia, Indonesia, most of Africa and Asia, and over 11,000 inhabited islands! (Mark 16:15)

Jesus confirmed the holiness of Old Testament cannibalism and added vampirism. That’s why they call it the New Testament, I suppose. The old one wasn’t bizarre enough, evidently.

For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. (John 6:55)

In fact, unless we become cannibals and vampires, we have no life in us, per Jesus. (John 6:53-58)

SNAKE CHARMER JESUS plugs the evangelization advantages of drinking poison and handling venomous serpents! (Mark 16:17-18)

Since the Holy Ghost didn’t properly marry Mary, her illegitimate son Jesus was ineligible to enter the temple!

“A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 23:2)

Mary and the rest of Jesus’s family forgot that he was god! Two gospels claim Jesus was “born of a virgin” with angels informing Mary and Joseph about Jesus being the son of god, and further claiming there were all sorts of miraculous signs like the magical Star of Bethlehem, choirs of angels serenading Jesus’s birth, the Magi, etc. The gospel of John says Mary knew Jesus could turn water into wine even before he began his ministry. But Mark 3:21-31 says Jesus’s family, including Mary, thought he was “out of his mind” and tried to stop him. The only explanation is that Jesus’s family forgot that he was god!

WAS JESUS A SACRIFICE? Seven biblical prophets denied that Yahweh desired bloody sacrifices, and in often blistering terms: Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, Samuel and King David. (Amos 5:21-25, Hosea 6:6, Isaiah 1:11-15, Jeremiah 7:22, 14:12, Micah 6:6-8, 1 Samuel 15:22, Psalm 40:6, 51:16)

    WHAT JESUS DIDN’T SAY

Is salvation by faith or works? Jesus failed to explain clearly and the early church was riven by dissension over this critical issue. According to the apostle Paul salvation was based on faith alone, while according to Peter and James, christians needed to abide by the Mosaic law, which included circumcision and a kosher diet.

Sometimes it’s the missing verse that makes christianity seem nuttier than Trump at a Gay Pride rally. For instance: When babies die do they go to hell—or later, limbo—if not splashed with magical water by magical priests? (Catholics) Or do children go to heaven until they pass the mysterious “age of accountability” which was never mentioned by Jesus or any apostle. (Protestants) The single most important thing for parents to know—how their children can be saved—was never once mentioned in the bible! When christian theologians clumsily inserted the pagan “hell” into the bible, they created a conundrum the bible never addressed, or even imagined. Jesus failed to anticipate and address the single most important thing of all.

    MY PERSONAL PATH

I grew up in an evangelical Christian family with missionaries, pastors, Sunday school teachers (including my mother) and a deacon. I grew up believing in Jesus because all the adults I trusted insisted that Jesus was “god” and that not to believe in Jesus meant going to “hell.”

What they didn’t tell me was that the biblical god Yahweh and his prophets had never once mentioned “hell” or any possibility of suffering after death in bible passages covering 4,000 years from Adam and Eve to the end of the Old Testament!

How can there be a “hell” if god and his prophets never even mentioned it? Not even once!

But I was unaware of the nonexistence of “hell” as a boy, just as most adult Christians remain unaware of it today, and still believe in “eternal punishment.”

However, something happened at age eleven that changed everything for me…

At age eleven I read the bible from cover to cover, ten chapters per day, to please my very devout parents.

Reading the bible from the beginning and not skipping anything was a real eye-opener for me.

These are the things I learned by reading the bible independently, and thinking for myself

    • The biblical god Yahweh was not good, but hideously evil, a mass-murderer of men, women, children, toddlers, infants, babies, unborns and trillions of animals.
    • Yahweh murdered Lot’s wife for looking over her shoulder at her burning house. What would we say about firemen who killed traumatized women for looking over their shoulders?
    • Yahweh sent two she-bears to maul 42 boys for calling a man “baldy.”
    • Yahweh was so evil, he would “harden the hearts” of human beings so they had no choice but to oppose him, thus giving him an “excuse” to demonstrate his “glory” by mass-murdering multitudes of innocent people and/or animals who had nothing to do with anything.
      • We see Yahweh hardening the pharaoh’s heart repeatedly during the Plagues of Egypt, then becoming enraged over what he had caused to happen and wantonly slaughtering animals and human beings. In the end Yahweh mass-murdered children and babies. And, for no reason at all, firstborn animals.
      • We see similar behavior during the census of King David. First, Yahweh commanded David to take a census. Then when David did what he had been commanded to do, Yahweh became enraged and mass-murdered 70,000 people over what he had caused to happen.

There are two accounts of the census of King David in the bible. In the account in 2 Samuel the author says Yahweh commanded David to take the census, then murdered 70,000 people over what he had caused to happen. But the writer of the same account in 1 Chronicles was so embarrassed by such evil that he changed his version to have Satan induce David to take the census. This is the first occurrence of the name Satan in the Christian bible. Thus the bible says Yahweh and Satan are the same being!

But the Chronicler didn’t redeem his “god” because he still allowed Yahweh to murder 70,000 people who had nothing to do with the census being taken.
    • Yahweh was a dumbass who thought the earth has a “firmament” — a solid transparent dome like a snowglobe that retains a freshwater “sea in the sky” from which the rain falls. This is because the primitive men who wrote the bible didn’t understand the process of evaporation, condensation and rainfall.
    • Yahweh was so clueless he thought stars were tiny pinpricks of light that can “fall” to earth without destroying it. Stars falling to earth is a recurring idea in the bible that appears in its last book, Revelation. The human authors of the bible obviously mistook meteors for stars.

But the real Creator would know better!
    • Yahweh also thought trees grew on earth before the sun was created. What a dumbass!
    • Yahweh speaking through his allegedly “great” prophet Moses commanded the worst crimes known to mankind:
      • slavery
      • sex slavery
      • matricide
      • infanticide
      • genocide
      • ethnic cleansing
      • And the ghastly stoning to death of boys for being stubborn and girls for being raped or not bleeding sufficiently on their wedding nights to prove their virginity. Of course the real Creator would have known that all girls don’t bleed the first time they have sex, so it’s obvious that the real “god” had nothing to do with the bible’s satanic verses. And any decent judge knows boys and girls shouldn’t be stoned to death for any reason, nor should anyone be murdered for having sex.
    • I could go on and on, but you get the picture. The biblical god Yahweh was an evil, arrogant dumbass with no sense of justice and no decency. There was nothing to believe in.

    But what about Jesus?

    • Christians claim Jesus is “nicer” than Yahweh while also being “one” with him. But in reality Jesus is infinitely worse than both Yahweh and the Devil, according to Christian theology, because of “hell.”
    • The Christian religion boils down to Jesus condemning billions of human beings to an infinitely cruel, purposeless “hell” for guessing wrong about which religion to believe.
    • No decent deity would do that!
    • Why believe in an indecent god?

For me, the choice was obvious because there was nothing to believe. Yahweh and Jesus were both evil, if the bible is to be believed. But of course the bible is not believable. If Jesus lived, which is not a given, he may have been a compassionate man who, after his death, was turned into a being infinitely worse than the Devil by the charlatans who wrote and redacted the New Testament.

Ironically, atheists and agnostics give Jesus the “benefit of the doubt” while his disciples blaspheme his name from sunup to sundown by saying he will condemn billions of non-christians to an “eternal hell.”

No decent human being would do that, nor would most indecent human beings. Only the worst sadists would do such a hideous, pointless thing.

Again, why believe in an indecent deity?

I am much happier not believing in an evil god.

  • Is Jesus God?

Jesus is not god, and there are simple ways to confirm this obvious fact. We can, for example, employ common sense…

    METHOD I: COMMON SENSE

First, suppose I told you that I am the son of god, that I have the power to “save” you from hell even though the biblical god and his prophets never mentioned hell or any possibility of suffering after death, and that god wants you to give my personal cult 10% of your earnings.

Would you believe me and turn over 10% of your earnings, or would you conclude that I’m trying to scam you?

Common sense tells us that an all-powerful god doesn’t need our money.

And why would an all-powerful god need human belief, when he could just do whatever he wanted to do, without needing any help from humans?

METHOD II: LACK OF EVIDENCE FOR EXTRAORDINARY CLAIMS

Before you gave me 10% of your money, surely you would demand proof of my claims.

But of course christians can’t prove anything they claim.

They clam to be led by the mysterious “Holy Ghost” and yet there are 45,000 different christian denominations, disproving this ludicrous theory.

Christians claim they have a “personal relationship” with Jesus, but he refuses to speak to them directly and clearly, disproving another barmy theory.

    • Why didn’t Jesus tell christians not to murder women as witches, because there are no women with supernatural powers, and if there were, no one could give them fair trials?
    • Why didn’t Jesus save the lives of christian women who were unjustly accused of being witches?
      • Either Jesus didn’t care, meaning he is not loving and compassionate.
      • Or Jesus is incapable of communicating with human beings, meaning he is not an all-powerful god.
      • Of Jesus simply doesn’t exist.
    • The same test can be applied to christians owning slaves, to christians raping and pillaging in so-called “holy wars,” etc.

In conclusion, nothing christians claim rings true, either in personal relationships, or in the collective behavior of christians during witch trials, the enslavement of millions of Africans, holy wars, etc.

I grew up in an evangelical christian family where everyone believed devoutly in the biblical god, but nothing my church told me about its “god” was true.

    METHOD III: FOLLOW THE MONEY

The real goal of Christianity is to get 10% of our money, by hook or by crook.
